His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday in Berlin met with the CEOs and leading executives of German companies that offer training and employment for Jordanian students and fresh graduates through a joint programme with the German-Jordanian University (GJU).
King Abdullah said he looks forward to seeing the programme expand and develop further to encompass a larger number of graduates, equipping them with the knowledge and expertise that would enable them to meet the needs of the local, regional, and international labour markets.
The CEOs and company representatives commended the skills of the Jordanian interns they have received and the overall promising potential of Jordan’s human capital, stressing the importance of the training and employment programme and the need to regularly develop it to keep up with the demands of the labour market.
A number of the executives attending the meeting said their experiences with Jordanian students and graduates have encouraged their companies to consider opening branches and offices in Jordan to invest in its talents and human capital.
They expressed a desire to promote Jordan’s investment opportunities for German business owners wishing to reach the Jordanian and regional markets.
The GJU has created partnerships with nearly 5,000 establishments working in industry and labour, as well as other sectors, to provide training and employment opportunities for Jordanian students and graduates.
