King meets with Israeli PM

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid at Al Husseiniya Palace.
At the meeting, King Abdullah highlighted the need to create a political horizon to reach just, comprehensive, and lasting peace, on the basis of the two-state solution, and bolster regional security, stability, and development, which must include the Palestinians.
His Majesty noted the importance of building on the outcomes of US President Joe Biden’s recent visit to the region.
The King called for maintaining calm in the upcoming period, and respecting the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The meeting also covered means to deal with issues related to transport, trade, water, and energy.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.
