King holds talks with Bahrain monarch in Manama

His Majesty King Abdullah and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain held talks in Manama on Tuesday that covered the deep-rooted ties between the two countries, and the latest regional developments.

In their talks, attended by senior officials from both sides, the two leaders affirmed the strong relations between Jordan and Bahrain, expressing keenness to advance them further in various areas.

The two sides stressed the importance of coordination and consultation on regional challenges and issues, with the aim of institutionalising joint Arab action and serving the interests of the Arab nation.

The talks also covered crises in the Middle East and efforts to reach political solutions that restore stability and security in the region.

In addition, the two sides discussed regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic strategy.

King Abdullah affirmed Jordan’s support for Bahrain in the face of any threat to its security and stability, stressing that the security of Gulf Arab countries is a cornerstone for regional stability.

For his part, King Hamad thanked Jordan for its support, praising His Majesty’s important role in the service of Arab causes and in bolstering joint Arab action, as well as his efforts to achieve regional security and stability.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Bahrain Rami Wreikat attended the meeting.

On the Bahraini side, the attendees were: Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is also deputy supreme commander and first deputy prime minister of Bahrain; Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahraini monarch’s personal representative; Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the monarch’s representative for charity work and youth; Royal Court Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa; Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Ateyatalla Al Khalifa, minister for follow-up at the Royal Court.
