His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday bestowed the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree on Arab vocal artist Samira Tewfik, in recognition of her long career and her role in enriching the national music culture.

Tewfik had performed at the ceremony marking Jordan’s 71st Independence Day.
