His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday congratulated the nation on the Hijri New Year, stressing that the anniversary is a reminder of the need to unite and defend true Islam.

King Abdullah tweeted: “Mubarak the Hijri New Year symbolising the journey of our great grandfather the Prophet PBUH & uniting us in upholding our benevolent faith #ABH”

On the occasion of Al Hijra anniversary, His Majesty has received cables of congratulations from several leaders of Arab and Muslim countries.

The King also received similar cables from Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and senior officials and officers.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II received similar cables from senior officials and officers, in which they expressed their best wishes on the occasion.
