His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday visited the National Chinese Defense University, which the Jordan Armed Forces enjoys scientific and military exchange. King Abdullah toured the university, which teaches military students from around the world. The university president affirmed the development of military relations between Jordan and China since the establishment of their diplomatic relations, and said that three Chinese officers who were killed in the terrorist attacks in Amman on Nov. 9 had completed a military course in Amman. King Abdullah visited the widows of the officers who were killed and another officer who was injured and who has been confined to a wheel chair since the attacks. Their Royal Highnesses Prince Faisal Ben Al Hussein and Princess Rayah Bent Al Hussein and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Khaled Al Sarayreh accompanied the King on his visit. The monarch is expected to meet Chinese President Hu Jintao on Monday for talks on enhancing bilateral relations. During the visit, two bilateral agreements will be signed under which China will support development projects and technical cooperation.



The King and an accompanying delegation that also includes Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair Al Ali arrived in China on Saturday for a two-day visit, after concluding a visit to Japan where he met the Japanese emperor and the Japanese prime minister. China is the second stop in a tour of East Asia that will conclude in Thailand later this week.
