His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Thursday with Dean of Harris School Dr. Susan Mayer and Associate Dean for Resource Development at the University of Chicago Dr. Raja Kamal.



During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court Sameer Rifai and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Bassem Awadallah and the Jordanian Ambassador in Washington Kareem Quwar, the King expressed appreciation for the decision of the University of Chicago's Board of Trustees to allocate a university seat for the excelling student in honor of His Majesty King Abdullah II.



The university decision comes in appreciation for the King's leadership and his cultural vision in stabilizing the good governance in the civil societies in Jordan and the region to make it the basis for the sustainable social, economic and political development.



Talks also covered ways of enhancing cooperation between the University of Chicago and the Jordanian educational institutions. The two sides agreed on providing two yearly scholarships for the distinguished Jordanian students in the University of Chicago.
