King meets Iraqi Ministers of Interior and Defense

His Majesty King Abdullah II on
Wednesday reaffirmed Jordan's continued support to the Iraqi people
and government in their drive to safeguard unity of Iraq's
territories, strengthen security and stability and reconstruct their
national institutions.



King Abdullah made his remarks during a meeting with Iraqi
Interior Minister Falah Al Naqib and Defense Minister Hazem Sha'alan
in presence of Prime Minister, the King's Advisor for Security
Affairs/ Director of General Intelligence Department and Rapporteur
of State Security Council, Royal Court Minister, Interior Minister,
Minister of Public Work and Housing, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs
of Staff and Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan.


The King also affirmed the necessity to end the
state of anarchy and violence in Iraq to pave the ground
for holding elections in all parts of the country and with the
participation of all Iraqi sects.


Stressing the importance of bolstering relations with Iraq
in all fields, King Abdullah said Jordan would continue supporting
the Iraqis including the training of Iraqi police cadres to help
the country rebuild its institutions.


The Iraqi ministers highly appreciated Jordan's efforts
under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah to help the
reconstruction process in Iraq and restore stability and security to
the country. They also affirmed Iraq's keenness to strengthen
relations with Jordan.
