King Departs For London

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah left Amman on Monday heading for London, where His Majesty will hold talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair on the Middle East peace process, the latest developments related to the Palestinian and Iraqi issues as well as mechanisms of developing Jordanian-British ties.



His Majesty is accompanied in this visit by the King's Advisor for Security Affairs, Director of the Intelligence department, General Saad Kheir, Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court Sameer Rifai and Planning and International Cooperation Minister Dr. Basim Awadallah.



Their Majesties will head for Berlin on Thursday on a one-day working visit during which His Majesty will hold talks with German President Horst Kohler and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer on bilateral, regional and international issues as well as developments in the region.



Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania and the German President Horst Kohler will open the Faces of the Orient exhibition in Berlin where 700 artifacts representing various
civilizations that inhabited the region will be on display.



The delegation accompanying His Majesty will include Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court Sameer Rifai and Foreign Minister Dr. Marwan Muasher.



His Royal Highness Prince Talal Bin Mohammad was sworn in as Regent in the presence of cabinet ministers.
