Speaking during the ceremony, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Helayel urged the international community to work more than ever to support righteousness and promote justice among nation so that the world will not slip into the abyss of extremism and terrorism.

"Our Islamic religion, just like all religions does not approve of extremism nor terrorism, nor does it accept injustice and offence," Helayel said. The tragic situation in Palestine and the bloody destiny in Iraq require an international position that could bring back sovereignty to the Palestinians and Iraqis and release them from the ghost of death and horror and the nightmare of killing and destruction, he said.
