His Majesty King Abdullah II Monday discussed with Bill Gates of Micro Soft, John Chambers of Sisco Systems, Volker Young of Siemens and James Mergoib of Star TV the aims Jordan has set to achieve essential development in education and telecommunications means.

His Majesty affirmed that the coming stage of reform process in Jordan will contribute to investment increase in the field of telecommunications and education, the matter which will enable Jordanian youth to master skills.

Gates stressed that Micro Soft is determined to take Jordan as a launching base for the company's strategic vision in the region. His Majesty and Gates agreed that the Ministry of Telecommunications and Micro soft sign a memorandum of understanding in order to prepare for a detailed agreement to build a strategic partnership between the two sides.

Gates said that the decision comes due to the progress Jordan has achieved in the field of information technology.

James Mergoub of Star TV hailed Jordan?s ability to bridge the gap by using information technology through scores of IT centers around the Kingdom.

John Chambers of Sisco Systems highlighted the economic stability Jordan enjoys, due to the educational, legislative and economic reform.

Such reform managed to open doors for investment in the vital spheres of Jordanian economy, he said.

Volker Young of Siemens expressed appreciation on the great progress Jordan has achieved in the field of information technology. Siemens is due to invest in soft ware programs and will contribute to training Jordanians.

His Majesty met also with Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousa, and Australian Foreign Minister Greet Evans and Director of Boeng Philip Konert.

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania met with former American President Bill Clinton.
