His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Tuesday a delegation from the Orthodox Church in Jerusalem which conveyed to His Majesty the best wishes of Patriarch of the holy city on the occasion of the new year.

The King congratulated the eastern Christian sects which celebrate Christmas today.

Members of the delegation highly valued King Abdullah's efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region and support the Christian presence in the holy lands. They also expressed appreciation for His Majesty, affirming that the Hashemites attention and care to achieve Islamic-Christian coexistence characterized positions of Jordan and the Hashemites.
