His Majesty King Abdullah II Wednesday made a telephone call with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and exchanged views with him on the deliberations of the current Arab summit in Beirut.

King Abdullah was updated by President Arafat on the ongoing events in the Palestinian areas. King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan`s support to the Palestinian people and their leadership. The King and President Arafat voiced total support to Saudi Prince Abdullah`s peace initiative .

King Abdullah highly appreciated President Arafat remarks in his speech to the summit which the King said reflects the Palestinian stand in supporting all efforts aimed to realize just and comprehensive peace in the region .
