In pursuit of his diligent efforts to calm down the situation in the Palestinian territories and prevent things from going beyond control, His Majesty King Abdullah, Monday made a telephone call with U.S, Secretary of State Colin Powel during which he expressed his deep worry over Israeli military escalation against the Palestinian people.

The King affirmed the importance of a continued U.S. role to halt the acts of violence and reach a ceasefire to embark on implementing the initiatives and agreements concluded so far in order to the peace process back on track.

King Abdullah stressed the necessity to bring the Palestinians and Israelis back to the language of dialogue as the only means to settle all the standing issues and establish the desired peace.
