His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday underlined the importance of positive interaction between young people and their local communities to contribute to problem solving.
During a meeting with 12 young men and women from the We are All Jordan Youth Commission's Shobak branch, the King said positive interaction between the younger generation and their communities is an important step to enhance the role of young people who take initiatives and participate in shaping the future.
The King lauded the efforts exerted by commission members in Shobak to identify the challenges facing their region and presenting applicable solutions.
His Majesty pledged to visit Shobak in the near future, affirming that the district's problems will be dealt with soon.
King Abdullah also expressed interest in following up on the activities and initiatives undertaken by Youth Commission members across the Kingdom.
King Abdullah explained that he will be meeting with these young people to learn about the problems facing their areas prior to his field visits.
The young Shobak residents who met with the King on Tuesday have participated in a local effort to determine the challenges facing their region, home to 15,000.
In cooperation with public and private institutions, they presented recommendations and solutions to upgrade and improve the conditions of their area.
The We are All Jordan Youth Commission was formed in 2006 to encourage the younger generation to participate in the decision making process and in building the future of the country.
Transforming Jordan into a modern knowledge-based economy with increased productivity and employment continues to be at the core of Jordan's long-term development vision, as has been articulated in the We are All Jordan Initiative.
