His Majesty King Abdullah has reiterated that the internationally accepted two-state solution is the key to ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Addressing an economic forum in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Friday, the King underlined the significance of relaunching Palestinian-Israeli negotiations within a specific timeframe and a regional context, with a clear plan that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil and provides Israel with security and acceptance in the region.

The King urged intensified international efforts during the upcoming stage based on specific practical steps to realise tangible progress in peace negotiations leading to comprehensive peace and a stable and secure Middle East, based on international resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

The forum was also attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein.

In a panel session at the meeting, the King said achieving peace in the Middle East would help countries in the region improve living conditions of their peoples, attract international investments and create jobs for generations to come.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah briefed the audience, which comprised key international political and economic figures, on programmes and projects implemented in the Kingdom to secure better living conditions for Jordanians and enhance the performance of the national economy.

The King also referred to Jordan's plans to diversify its energy resources, which will enhance the Kingdom's capabilities in dealing with fluctuations in world markets.

In addition, he highlighted the Kingdom's economic partnerships with many world countries, noting that Jordan has become a hub for attracting global investment.
