Upon an invitation by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his spouse will start a three-day working visit to Jordan on Friday.
During the visit, King Abdullah and the Turkish prime minister will hold talks on ways to enhance bilateral ties, especially in the economic and trade fields. They will also discuss the latest developments in the Middle East as well as efforts to achieve peace and strengthen security and stability in the region, in addition to the role Amman and Ankara can play towards that end.
Erdogan will also meet his Jordanian counterpart, Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, and visit the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
The Turkish leader will also address the second annual meeting of the Young Arab Leaders which will kick off at the Dead Sea on Sunday.
Jordan and Turkey, which enjoy deep historical ties, seek to enhance their cooperation in the economic and trade sectors as well as encourage the Jordanian and Turkish private sectors to go into joint ventures.
King Abdullah has paid several visits to Turkey, the last of which was in September, 2005.
