Under a royal makruma by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, children of teachers admitted to public universities under the five per cent quota reserved for them will benefit from scholarships covering their tuition fees in full.

King Abdullah instructed the government on Sunday to apply regulations of the royal makruma covering children of working and retired military personnel to children of teachers as of the 2010-2011 academic year.

Prime Minister Samir Rifai welcomed the royal makruma, saying that the King has always expressed his appreciation for teachers' dedication. The Cabinet will announce procedures to implement the makruma in its session on Tuesday, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Nabil Sharif said.
