South Korean delegation briefed on peace efforts

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday discussed efforts to stop the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Hyong-o and an accompanying delegation.

At the meeting, the King stressed the importance of partnership between the two countries and ways to boost cooperation in the fields of water desalination and alternative energy.

Talks during the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal, Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, the King's Adviser Ayman Safadi and the Korean Ambassador to Amman Bong-Kil Shin, also touched on means to boost bilateral ties.

King Abdullah reviewed the outcome of his latest visit to South Korea in December 2008 during which the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy and a memorandum of understanding on economic and development cooperation.
