Senate's Reply to the Speech from the Throne

The Senate stressed that God willing and under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the modern Jordan, in which citizens enjoy safety, stability, welfare and comprehensive development, will be achieved.



In its reply to the Speech from the throne delivered by the King at the opening of the second session of Parliament, Senate President Zeid Rifai said that the speech from the throne
set up the priorities of this important stage, and it was marked with truthfulness, clarity, comprehensiveness, accuracy, and depth.



"The upcoming stage regarding reform and development processes will go ahead to achieve Your Majesty's first aim embodied in developing standards of lives of people, fighting poverty and unemployment through reconsidering the educational and training
programs,'' the Senate noted in its reply.



Rifai added that the Senate is following up King Abdullah's intensive efforts to create a suitable investment climate, set up legislations and implement reforms with a view to attract investments into Jordan.



"The Senate supports Your Majesty's vision that the administrative development should come in line with the political one, and that the economic development is its tributary and that maintaining Jordan's security and stability topes all other priorities," Said Rifai, who also highlighted achievement that were accomplished by the virtue of King Abdullah in all fields.



The Senate's reply was attended by a number of the Royal family members, the Prime Minister, President o the Judicial Council, the Minister of the Royal Court as well as King's advisors.
