His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday underscored that the security and stability of the homeland top all interests and considerations and the priority for all of us now is to protect the homeland and preserve its march and accomplishments.
King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of the 21st group of the Khalid Ben Al Walid Battalion at Muta University.
The King said Jordan will remain an oasis of security and stability, a role model for progress and be able to confront challenges and realise achievements with the will and resolve of its men and women.
We are committed to continue improving living conditions and provide decent housing for families of members of the Arab Army and security apparatus, he told graduates.
King Abdullah said it is the country's duty to ensure that retired military personnel, families of martyrs and injured soldiers receive attention, care and appreciation, adding that they should be proud of their sacrifices and what they have offered to their homeland.
We are very keen on supporting the Jordan Armed Forces and the security apparatus through modernisation, upgrading and training and through equipping them with the latest weaponry and technology, the King said.
The King stressed that the JAF is an important partner in the development process, especially in qualifying manpower, implementing productivity projects and providing basic training and healthcare services.
At the end of the ceremony, the King presented awards to excelling cadets.
Muta University was established in 1981 along with a police college. The Military College was established in 1984, while the civilian wing of the university was created in 1986.
