Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz on Saturday concluded a two-day visit to the Kingdom, during which he held talks with His Majesty King Abdullah on bilateral ties and recent developments in the region as well as Arab and regional issues of mutual concern.
At a meeting on Friday, the two leaders expressed their keenness to develop bilateral cooperation in all fields in order to serve the interests of Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
They also stressed the need to continue Arab coordination and consultation to confront regional challenges.
King Abdullah commended the efforts of the Saudi monarch to boost Arab solidarity and to achieve a unified Arab stance to serve Arab interests.
During the summit, the two leaders discussed efforts to end the Arab-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and within a regional context that guarantees the restoration of all Arab rights, particularly the right of Palestinians to establish an independent state on their national soil.
King Abdullah and the Saudi king underlined the importance of intensifying international efforts to achieve tangible progress in the peace process and to achieve a two-state solution to the decades-old conflict.
They stressed their support for Lebanon's efforts to boost its security, stability and national unity.
They also discussed the situation in Iraq and highlighted the importance of security and stability in the country, describing Iraq as a pillar of the region's security and stability. They stressed the need to form a national unity government that includes all components of Iraqi society.
The Saudi monarch briefed King Abdullah on his regional tour, which also included Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, and the meetings he held with the leaders of these countries.
