His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday issued instructions for the implementation of several projects in the fields of health, education and services in Sahab to improve living conditions of its citizens.
During a visit to the district, the King met with area residents and community leaders, who called for the establishment of schools, healthcare centres, a facility for people with disabilities and a community college affiliated with Balqa Applied University.
They also called for addressing traffic congestion in the city centre, tackling environmental pollution, the establishment of youth and ICT centres and increasing the number of public parks in the area.
Issuing instructions to meet the residents' demands, King Abdullah directed the concerned authorities to build a second floor for Jamil Al Tutanji Hospital to serve the increasing number of patients seeking medical services.
His Majesty also issued instructions for supplying the facility with medical equipment and the required staff to enhance its services to the growing population.
The King said the government, in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality, will work to meet the demands of area residents as soon as possible.
Noting that he will visit the district in the near future to inaugurate the projects he ordered, King Abdullah said the creation of soil dams will be studied to meet the irrigation needs of the agricultural sector.
During his tour, King Abdullah also visited the Hettin Basic School, where he gave instructions for the construction of new premises to replace the existing facility, which has 180 students on its roster and is overcrowded.
His Majesty also visited the Civil Service Consumer Corporation's Sahab branch and was briefed on the availability of food items and commodities.
Also during the visit, several families in the district received urgent financial assistance upon the King's directives, to help them face economic challenges, especially during Ramadan.
