His Majesty King Abdullah II has instructed the government to disburse JD100 each to serving and retired Jordan Armed Forces, security forces, civil service personnel and citizens receiving aid from the National Aid Fund as a gift to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Finance Minister Hamad Kasasbeh said the ministry will start disbursing the amount this month before the start of Ramadan.

The Royal makruma, he said is designed to ease economic burden on citizens and secure part of their basic living needs in the holy month.

The number of citizens who will benefit from the Royal makruma stands at 773,000.
