His Majesty King Abdullah has issued directives, requesting concerned officials to continue the implementation of Royal initiatives that aim at supporting underprivileged families, needy senior citizens, orphans and people with disabilities.
King Abdullah urged concerned departments at the Royal Hashemite Court to continue offering financial support to 30,000 underprivileged families around the Kingdom in coordination with the Social Development Ministry.
The ministry, in turn, will work on determining who will benefit from the Royal initiative in accordance with a database and standards in place that “ensure justice and transparency.”
The King also ordered continued support for the ministry to enable it to implement or oversee NGOs’ implementation of activities during the fasting month of Ramadan targeting the vulnerable.
The Royal initiatives aim at improving the living conditions of targeted segments and providing essential needs for them, the statement said, especially in Ramadan, during which Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dawn until dusk.
