A Royal Decree was issued on Wednesday appointing Zeid Rifai as Senate president as of 29 November 2009. “We, Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in line with Article 36 of the Constitution, order the following: that Zeid Rifai be appointed as Senate president as of 29 November 2009,” the decree said.
