The Hashemite Charity Caravans on Tuesday began distribution of food aid to underprivileged families throughout the country upon directives of His Majesty King Abdullah.
The trucks will visit cities, rural areas and the badia this month, marking Independence Day on May 25.
More than 21,000 families will benefit from food parcels that cover the needs of an eight-member family for six months.
Each governorate will receive 1,200 packets and camps will receive 200, according to a Royal Court official.
Since January, the Royal Court distributed more than 104,000 food parcels, excluding the current aid.
The Royal Court formulated long-term action plans to ensure the aid reaches needy people across the country including marginalized areas, the official said.
