His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, visited the Public Security Directorate’s Forensic Laboratories Department on Thursday.
His Royal Highness was briefed on the department’s operations, including its use of state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to examine and analyse forensic evidence, as well as its vital role in supporting investigations and bolstering the criminal justice system.
The Crown Prince praised the department’s advanced capabilities, efficiency, and the expertise of its personnel, emphasising the importance of continuing to build their technical and technological capacities to keep pace with global innovations in forensic and digital sciences, thereby elevating the efficacy of security frameworks and reinforcing the rule of law.
His Royal Highness underscored the importance of increasing cooperation and partnerships with universities, scientific institutes, and the private sector to proactively address emerging security challenges and contribute to developing effective solutions, as well as supporting the department’s efforts in fostering community safety.
The Crown Prince was briefed on the department’s core specialisations and advanced methodologies utilised in the analysis of forensic and digital evidence, and how it provides technical and scientific support for criminal investigations in accordance with the highest global standards.
The briefing also covered key projects and plans to enhance the operational readiness of the Forensic Laboratories Department and optimise performance.
