His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a letter from President of Senegal Abdoulaye Wade on bilateral ties and preparations to hold 11th summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference that will be held in Dakar in March 2008.
In the letter, presented to King Abdullah at the Royal Court today by Senegalese president's envoy Karim Wade, the head of the national commission handling preparations for the conference, the president stressed his country's eagerness to enhance and support Islamic solidarity.
During the meeting, attended by Royal Court Chief Bassem Awadallah, the King voiced his appreciation for Senegal's efforts, stressing the Kingdom's support to Dakar to render the summit a success.
King Abdullah said a desirable outcome of the upcoming summit mainly relies on the ability of the member states to unify the Islamic umma (nation) in its efforts to entrench moderation.
