A Royal Decree was issued Saturday appointing Nasser Lozi as Royal Court chief as of Saturday.

His Majesty King Abdullah sent a letter to Lozi in which he stressed that the current stage requires cooperation between all state institutions to stand up to the challenges facing the reform, development and modernization process under way.

The King commended Lozi's track record and “excellent reputation in various positions you have assumed”.

His Majesty said the mission ahead is to proceed with the reforms and modernization programme towards comprehensive development.

Realizing such a goal requires more dedication, sincere work and full cooperation between all state agencies, the King said, adding that all institutions should be unified working for one common vision and should be carrying out their duties with a team spirit to translate the vision into reality so that Jordanians could reap the fruits of these efforts.

"I am confident that you will be extremely keen to work on this vision in cooperation and coordination with other state institutions," King Abdullah said, stressing that the Royal Court has been and will always be home for all Jordanians.

"As I congratulate you on your new position, I assure that you will have my full support," the King told the new Royal Court chief.

Lozi was born in Amman on February 26, 1957. He graduated in 1979 from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in civil engineering after receiving his high school degree from the Islamic Scientific College in Amman in 1975.

He held several ministerial posts including minister of transport in 1996, 1998 and in 1999, public works and housing in 1997 and information and culture in 1999.

He has vast experience in the private sector where he was chairman of the board of Royal Jordanian Airline and chairman of the board of Royal Jordanian Investment Company.

Lozi also chaired the Royal Jordanian Executive Privatisation Committee as well as the board of the Arab Orient Insurance Company.

He was also board member of the King Hussein Foundation, Jordan New Cable, Jordan Kuwait Bank and Jordan Steel Company.
