His Majesty King Abdullah said we in Jordan are creating a new model for our region, a model that celebrates human rights, human talents and human opportunity.

In an address, the King delivered at a dinner banquet held by German President Johnnes Rau and Mrs. Rau in honour of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Tuesday, the King said "we are committed to dialogue of cultures, faiths, and societies."

In a reply statement President Rau said relations between Jordan and Germany are close and friendly in all fields and cooperation in spheres of culture and science in particular is fruitful.

Jordan is a country with a long history on a land that is the cradle of the oldest civilizations and human cultures, he said.

He added Germany and Jordan were in agreement that the political solution is the only way to settle the Iraqi crisis and the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis.
