Alia Hattough-Bouran on Tuesday took the oath of office as Jordan's new ambassador to the UK, before His Majesty King Abdullah.

Hattough-Bouran is a former minister of tourism and antiquities, and environment.

She also served as ambassador to Belgium.

The director of His Majesty's Office, Farouq Qasrawi, and Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib attended the ceremony.
