His Majesty King Abdullah and Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday both phoned in to Jordan Television's News At Eight to congratulate the Nashama football team on their victory against Syria in the AFC Asian Cup 2011. The win qualified Jordan for the AFC Asian Cup quarter-finals.

“I cannot describe the joy we had at home today… I don't think the kids will sleep tonight,” King Abdullah told JTV's News At Eight.

“Nashama did an outstanding job in Doha,” he said. “They have boosted the morale of everyone in Jordan and made us very proud. All thanks to our boys in Doha and for the entire Jordanian people. Congratulations a thousand times over.”

King Abdullah wished Nashama good luck in Friday's match against Uzbekistan.
