His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, urged security forces on Tuesday to provide security and safety to all citizens and residents of the Kingdom based on the humanitarian principles of justice, equality and respect of human rights.

During a visit to the Special Police Operations Command affiliated with the Gendarmerie Department, King Abdullah and Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sweilmin discussed issues of interest to the department in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Rashid bin El Hassan, commander of the Special Police.

His Majesty was briefed by Prince Rashid on the tasks and duties of the Special Police.

The King voiced appreciation of the department personnel’s efforts to protect the country.

Sweilmin said the Gendarmerie Department is continuing its development to shoulder its responsibilities and perform its tasks efficiently through cooperation with other state institutions.
