King visits Spain

His Majesty King Abdullah and King Juan Carlos of Spain on Tuesday held talks on bilateral relations and latest regional developments.



The King underlined the significant role of Spain in backing efforts to revive the peace process and put an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.



His Majesty reviewed Jordan's and international community's efforts to help Palestinians and Israelis accelerate measures to implement the roadmap as well as strengthen security and stability in Iraq and secure a better future for its people.



Both leaders' talks also covered ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.



Meanwhile, King Abdullah met separately with Spain's Lower House Speaker Manuel Marin Gonzales and Senate President Francisco Javier Rojo Garcia.



King Abdullah said that the recent Sharm El Sheikh summit and the mutual ceasefire reached between Palestinians and Israelis along with an understanding to release Palestinian prisoners were important steps to achieve peace.



For their part, the officials highly appreciated His Majesty's vital role to support democracy and broaden public participation in decision making in Jordan.



Later on the day, the Spanish monarch and His Majesty King Abdullah attended a Champions League match between Real Madrid and Juventus.
