His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday checked on wounded officers of the Gendarmerie Forces and the Public Security Department being treated at King Hussein Medical Centre.
King Abdullah was briefed on their conditions by Royal Medical Services Director Maj. Gen. Abdel Aziz Ziadat.
His Majesty praised the role of the security personnel in maintaining the rule of the law and protecting property, establishments and citizens’ constitutional rights.
“They are our brothers and our sons, who displayed the highest level of professionalism, responsibility and wisdom in dealing with the recent events,” said the King.
“They have exerted great efforts during the last two years, since the protests began as part of the Arab Spring, and performed their duty to the fullest.”
His Majesty expressed pride in the Jordanian people, their awareness and their high sense of responsibility.
Jordanians are taking a “unified stand to protect the country’s security, achievements and stability,” said the King.
Chief of the Royal Court Riad Abu Karaki and Gendarmerie Department Director General Lt. Gen. Tawfiq Tawalbeh accompanied His Majesty on the visit.
