His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday visited the Public Security Department (PSD), stressing the need to protect citizens' rights and enforce the rule of law in a firm and transparent way, and without exception, for the sake of democracy and reform in Jordan.

Meeting with PSD Director Lt. General Tawfiq Tawalbeh, King Abdullah reiterated the need to continue providing modern and integrated police services across the country.

His Majesty pointed out that the PSD plays an important role by interacting with the local community and putting in place mechanisms and programmes to deal with problems facing society.

The King expressed pride and confidence in all police force personnel and their ability to effectively carry out their duties under all circumstances.
