His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday visited the Operations Room at the Command and Control Center and stressed the need to coordinate efforts to serve citizens and offer relief and rescue services during the current severe weather conditions.

During his meeting with a number of ministers and high-ranking officers, King Abdullah urged the army and other security forces to support local and central government efforts.

Upon His Majesty’s directives, the army established Kingdom-wide operation rooms and urged citizens to call whenever they are in need.

During the visit, the King was briefed on efforts by ministries, official departments, army and security forces to aid citizens, re-open blocked roads and rescue those stranded in the snow.

His Majesty expressed pride over efforts by various states bodies to provide citizens with relief aid. Snowfall and heavy rainfall over the past days blocked major highways and roads around the Kingdom.
