King visits Ministry of Telecommunication and IT

His Majesty King Abdullah II Tuesday said the well-organized work, that is founded on team spirit, the development of capabilities and on giving the chance for creativity sets the best example to continue the building process towards realizing our hopes for progress and development.



King Abdullah made his remarks during a visit to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology accompanied by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai.



The King paid tribute to the Ministry's efforts to enhance the role of the IT sector in economic and social development including the e-government program and , e-learning.



During the visit, King Abdullah, who was accompanied by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, listened to a briefing on the ministry's accomplishments with regard to joint projects with the
private sector and universities as well as models of partnership with world companies.



King Abdullah also toured various facilities of the ministry and looked into activities designed to implement the e-government programs.



Minister of Telecommunications and IT Fawaz Zu'bi said institutionalizing the ministry's work is an integral part of our efforts to set a model for government administration.



He outlined the ministry-sponsored e-government program and the set of services that will be offered soon by this government.



The ministry has already embarked on the second phase of this program which includes 12 government departments, he said.
