His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday discussed with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah prospects for further cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in the Middle East.
During a meeting at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait, the two leaders explored means to boost bilateral ties, particularly economic ties.
They expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait and the continued coordination regarding issues of mutual concern.
King Abdullah voiced appreciation for Kuwait’s economic support for the Kingdom, noting that Kuwaiti investments in Jordan are the largest among Arab investors.
Discussions also covered the latest regional developments, especially the current situation in several Arab countries.
Present at the meeting were His Royal Highness Prince Talal, His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi, the King’s special adviser and personal envoy Sharif Fawaz Zaben, the King’s adviser on tribal affairs, and Jordanian Ambassador to Kuwait Jumaa Abbadi.
The Kuwaiti emir held a lunch in honour of King Abdullah and the accompanying delegates.
King Abdullah also met with Iraqi Vice President Adil Abdul Mahdi at the Bayan Palace in Kuwait.
Discussions covered bilateral ties and means to develop cooperation between Jordan and Iraq and developments in the region.
During his brief visit to the Gulf emirate, the King, along with Prince Talal, Prince Ghazi and Zaben, visited the Kharafi family diwan to offer condolences to Speaker of Kuwait National Assembly Jassim Kharafi over the death of his brother Nasser Kharafi, a leading businessman who died last month in Cairo.
