His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, met with Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation's Secretary General Mohammad Aitan during a visit to the organisation on Thursday.
The King called for developing the charity's tools so it can better perform its humanitarian role in extending assistance to areas hit by natural and humanitarian disasters.
King Abdullah emphasised the need to coordinate and regulate the charitable work in the country through a comprehensive national programme.
Since its establishment in 1990, the organisation extended assistance to some 18 Arab and Islamic countries, especially Palestine, which has received relief aid worth JD53 million via 240 convoys.
