King visits headquarters of Hanergy Holding Group

His Majesty King Abdullah, on Wednesday, visited Hanergy Holding Group headquarters in Beijing and met with its chairman and CEO, Li Hejun, for talks on joint cooperation and means to benefit from the company’s expertise in various energy-related areas.

Earlier, during the World Economic Forum in May 2015, Jordan signed a deal with Hanergy to carry out solar and wind projects and expand the Kingdom’s power grid and increase its renewable energy production.

Hejun outlined the company’s projects in various part of the world, expressing desire to increase investments in Jordan.

King Abdullah expressed admiration of the company’s experience, stressing the need to explore further areas of cooperation between the company and Jordan.

The King was briefed on the company’s businesses, which cover hydropower, wind power and thin-film solar power domains and looked into the modern techniques and methods developed by the company in the field of solar energy production to contribute to reducing costs and mitigate the negative environmental effects caused by traditional means of energy.

The company’s chairman expressed thanks to His Majesty’s visit, expressing satisfaction over his company’s cooperation with Jordan.

On the sidelines of the visit, an agreement will be signed between Hanergy and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, to build solar and wind energy projects to generate 1000 MW.
