His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday visited the Gendarmerie Department.

King Abdullah, who was accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, met with General Lt. Gen. Tawfiq Tawalbeh, the department's director, and was briefed on its achievements, training programmes and future plans.

His Majesty voiced his pride in and appreciation for the efforts exerted by Gendarmerie personnel to safeguard the country's achievements.

Tawalbeh stressed that the department will continue performing its humanitarian and security responsibilities to the fullest.
