His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), visited the Eastern Military Region Command on Monday, and checked on the operational readiness and defensive and technical capabilities of its formations and units.
His Majesty, accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, was briefed on the Eastern Military Region’s key operational tasks and its efforts to develop combat and logistical capabilities.
The King was also briefed by the commander of Task Force “Fahd”, which was formed in response to recent regional developments with the aim of strengthening support for Border Guard units, and enhancing security and operational readiness along the border.
His Majesty inspected the operations and control room and was briefed on mechanisms for managing field operations and the use of modern technological systems to support the work of the region’s formations and Border Guard units, thereby enhancing border security, speeding up on-the-ground responses to developments, and improving decision-making efficiency.
During the visit, the King held a teleconference meeting with the assistant commander of Task Force “Fahd”.
His Majesty also toured an exhibition featuring military vehicles and equipment fitted with advanced systems and technologies used in field operations.
His Majesty expressed pride in the high standards and level of Eastern Military Region personnel, commending the efforts of the JAF in protecting Jordan’s borders and safeguarding its security and stability, and emphasising the importance of continuing to develop defence and technological capabilities.
