King visits Civil Defence Department

His Majesty King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), visited the Civil Defence Department (CDD) headquarters where he was reassured on its operational plans.

King Abdullah was briefed by the CDD Director Lt. Gen. Talal Kofahi, on the department’s approach in implementing its developmental and operational plan, namely winter-related schemes.

Kofahi also reviewed procedures undertaken by the CDD to develop its performance to ensure sustainable humanitarian services for the people and visitors of Jordan.

His Majesty watched up-to-date machinery and equipment used by specialized CDD teams, including fire, rescue, emergency and medical equipment that were designed in cooperation with leading national companies.

The King voiced pride in the advanced level the CDD has reached and in the professional and relentless efforts of its personnel in performing their noble duties and safeguarding the country’s achievements.

His Majesty also emphasised the importance of moving forward in the department’s modernisation and development process.
