His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday visited the central elections operation room at the interior ministry.
Prime Minister Samir Rifai briefed King Abdullah on the overall election process and the ministry's measures to facilitate the process.
King Abdullah called the parliamentary polls an important step in Jordan's democratic process that reflect a vision of reform, development and partnership between the government and the legislature, which he said plays an essential constitutional role in the national development process.
The King also met with members of the Elections Higher Committee and received a briefing from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Nayef Qadi on the different stages of the electoral process.
Qadi noted that a total of 40,000 ministry employees managed the ballot at 1,492 polling centres across the Kingdom.
King Abdullah thanked all those involved in managing the elections for their efforts to ensure a smooth vote and to enable citizens to practice their constitutional right.
