King to visit Saudi Arabia Wednesday

27 April 2009
Amman , Jordan

His Majesty King Abdullah will hold talks Wednesday with King Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia on efforts to launch serious and direct negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Talks will focus on ways to achieve a peaceful settlement to the Middle East conflict based on the two-state solution within a regional context.

During the visit, King Abdullah will brief the Saudi leader on his talks with US President Barack Obama in Washington last week.

The summit between King Abdullah and Obama on April 21 addressed steps to be taken to bring about peace in the region.

During his visit to the US, where he met with US administration officials and congressional leaders, King Abdullah conveyed the Arab states' position in favour of bringing about a comprehensive peace that restores all rights to the Palestinians and realises security and stability in the region.

The Saudi visit is part of the ongoing coordination between the two kingdoms in the service of pan-Arab issues and interests.
