King to visit Kazakhstan Wednesday

His Majesty King Abdullah II commences an official visit on Wednesday to the Republic of Kazakhstan where he will meet Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev for talks on the development and expansion of bilateral ties, as well as the latest regional and international political developments.

During the two-day visit, King Abdullah will also meet Prime Minister Kareem Masimov and several other high-ranking Kazakh officials.

Several agreements that aim to develop ties between the two countries, particularly in the economic field, will be signed ahead of the visit.

The Kazakh president made an official visit to Jordan in November 2006.

Kazakhstan is one of the 10 largest countries in the world and is situated in the middle of Asia. It is considered one of the world's foremost producers of wheat and wool.

Kazakhstan, a member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, plays a significant role in the international oil market and possesses several mineral deposits.
