His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday stressed the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors to overcome challenges facing the implementation of investment projects and programs in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
During a meeting with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Nasser Madadha and the commissioners, King Abdullah affirmed the need to move ahead with investment, tourist, industrial and transport projects in Aqaba.
The King also highlighted the importance of taking steps to maximise the impact of the current tourism season so as to support national economy.
His Majesty was briefed by Madadha on ASEZA's future plans in various fields, especially efforts exerted to develop Aqaba as a major tourist destination in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh expressed the government’s keeness on overcoming challenges facing investors in Aqaba, stressing the government's support for ASEZA.
He also underlined the importance of adopting programs to enhance domestic tourism to Aqaba.
