His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Sunday, discussed ways to de-escalate tensions in the region.

His Majesty stressed the need to step up international efforts to reach comprehensive calm, warning of the consequences of escalations and increased tensions in the region.

The King said Jordan will not tolerate its territory to be used as a battleground for any conflict, nor will it allow its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens to be threatened.

His Majesty also stressed the need for continued international attention to the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, and to work towards a ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Strip, and an end to the escalations in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
